Strawberry tree - Solar cellphone charger

Strawberry energy is a group of talented young people gathered around one dream: a dream in which the world can be better, and that in the right way.

Strawberry Tree is public solar mobile phone charger that is independently designed and made by a group of students from Belgrade University and it was first introduced not only to Serbia but also to the world in October 2010. when it was installed in the town square in the center of Obrenovac, Serbia. The technology giant is already 5 months daily supplementing batteries of passersby, with clean, environmental energy that is received from the Sun. It is a kind of technological innovation, which is already in a short time several times awarded at national and international competitions.

Strawberry energy team completely designed, developed and practically implemented solar charger, and then installed it in Obrenovac. In the early phase of the project it was supported by business and technology incubator in Belgrade. The importance of the project is recognized by the Energy Efficiency Agency of the Republic of Serbia.
Strawberry energy is a group of talented young people gathered around a dream: a dream in which the world can do better, and that the right way. Dream in which the energy is from the sun and wind, where the air is clean and unpollutedr. Dream in which the new technology and creativity are used to help people and preserve the enviroment. Team consists of 8 students from different faculties of the University of Belgrade and it is made up of students from electrical engineering, architectural, mechanical and Faculty of Organizational Sciences. The team consists of: Milos Milisavljevic, Tamara Turšijan, Bojan Vasiljevic, Miroslav Ribaric, Michael Vasic, Strahinja Stancic, U. Uljarević and Bojan Bork.
Public Solar charger is for use in busy public places (streets, parks, squares) and aims to use energy generated from the sun and to offer people free battery recharging when they need it most: when they are outside the house and the battery is empty . Their idea of a unique way, using renewable energy sources, provides immediate and concrete help to people.
This is corroborated by data obtained from the Strawberry Tree installed near Belgrade, on which we can conclude that the first 10,000 loadings are achieved in 40 days from the date of opening. Since the weather was cold and that few people were on the streets, an average of 250 people a day who stopped to recharge your cell phone a day has surpassed all expectations.
Hope you liked this post. In the close future, I’m going to write more about electrical characteristics of this Solar Tree!
